What it is
A project in ProTrackerr is one job — one address, one client, one scope. Everything (subs, estimates, photos, finances) attaches to it.
Why it matters
Clean project setup at the start saves hours of back-tracking later. The fields you fill in here drive every report, financial total, and crew assignment.
How to use it
- 1Click + New Project on the dashboard.
- 2Enter project name, client name, and address.
- 3Set the job value and target margin.
- 4Pick a status (usually Active to start).
- 5Save — you're now ready to add subs, estimates, and documents.
Key actions & buttons
- Project Name — keep it short and recognizable
- Client — links the job to a homeowner or carrier
- Job Value — drives Profit Guard calculations
- Status — Active / Near Budget / Over Budget / Closed
Best practices
- Use a consistent naming convention (Address — Trade).
- Set the target margin honestly — that's what Profit Guard watches.
- Don't skip the address — it powers maps and crew dispatch.
