Creating a Project

Set up a new job in under two minutes.

This module video is a 9-second highlight clip.

The full written walkthrough is below, and the longer full-demo MP4 is available if you want to upload the broader product tour to YouTube.

What it is

A project in ProTrackerr is one job — one address, one client, one scope. Everything (subs, estimates, photos, finances) attaches to it.

Why it matters

Clean project setup at the start saves hours of back-tracking later. The fields you fill in here drive every report, financial total, and crew assignment.

How to use it

  1. 1Click + New Project on the dashboard.
  2. 2Enter project name, client name, and address.
  3. 3Set the job value and target margin.
  4. 4Pick a status (usually Active to start).
  5. 5Save — you're now ready to add subs, estimates, and documents.

Key actions & buttons

  • Project Name — keep it short and recognizable
  • Client — links the job to a homeowner or carrier
  • Job Value — drives Profit Guard calculations
  • Status — Active / Near Budget / Over Budget / Closed

Best practices

  • Use a consistent naming convention (Address — Trade).
  • Set the target margin honestly — that's what Profit Guard watches.
  • Don't skip the address — it powers maps and crew dispatch.
